I usually like to taste by the 1/2 glass and try much more.

"Sacramento's terroir" that's what revolution wines is doing.
Upon first walking in here I thought Revolution Wines may be like any other wine bar, but that thought was far from true. Revolution Wines is a wine bar and urban winery embodying the concept of Sacramento's terroir, by using wine grapes from locally sourced vineyards, and serving up delicious bites using local ingredients.

What is terroir exactly? Think of it as being the taste of a place. Take Chardonnay; a versatile and terroir expressive grape variety that is grown all over the world. Chardonnay grown in Burgundy, is going to taste different compared to Chardonnay grown in California, Australia, or even Canada; due to factors such as climate, soil, terrain, and even wine making techniques.

Not a fan of sitting inside? Revolution Wines has a giant outside patio prettily decorated with gleaming lights reminiscent of the glow of a city street after the rain.

A happening area on the weekends
Living in Asia for quite some time, my meat and cheese plate fix has been long overdue. Sure there are places where you can get meat and cheese platters all around Asia, but it's never quite like home.  As soon as I walked into this place and took a look around, I spotted the pig masks hanging up in the back. I was immediately evoked with thoughts of the past and recalled a strange episode of Ren & Stimpy! I can't quite say if remembering that show is a good thing or not...(for any of you, who have watched it)  I love it when wine reminds me of something long ago or brings me back to a time or place in the past, but oddly enough it was the meat masks that had me overtaken by nostalgia.
Meat, cheese, wine, good company, nostalgia=bliss.

This place tends to fill up fast, and meats and cheeses are not served all night. Do yourself a favor! come early, try more, have more time to drink more wine =)

Cheese galore

Llama Malbec, Argentina $28 (red plum & sweet tobacco yumm)
